Opening Performance

So on the day I went to downtown Dallas to play around with my new lens, I came across two teens who setup on a bench at the Main Street Garden, and started playing guitar. They were trying to get over the jitters of playing in public, and as someone who has done the exact same thing, it does work, and is also great to see people enjoying your music.

I went up to them, offered them copies of the photos, and shot a few of them sitting and playing. It was my first time using the 50mm, and they were also sitting in the shadow of the building (otherwise it was bright and sunny out). I thought I had a ton of amazing photos, but some turned out to be have bad DOF because of shooting at f/1.8 to make up for the light. But this (and a few others going up), turned out good enough if you ask me.
