Fly In The Ointment - 2

The story, as old as time, of a battle between man and beast; a story of bravery and courage, of sorrow and defeat. A man, weapon held in hand, spots his foe high atop the ceiling of the world. The light blinding our hero as the fell beast rages forward at our contender, rays of golden stream around the beast on all sides, helping to obscure its decent. Our hero lunges with his trusted and true weapon, hitting nothing but air, as the beast dodges with superior speed and cunning.

The beast is fast, but its mistake is its confidence; again it lunges at our courageous fighter, blood and bile in the beasts heart and desire. Again our hero lunges, trusting not his eyes but his heart, and his fate. A slight vibration flows through his weapon as contact is made with the winged beast, and our hero is victorious, once again.

But our hero is not without kindness, and instead of finishing the wounded foe... drops the ruler, and takes out his camera and captures a few pictures of the dazed and confused fly. Reverse macro in hand, the fly yields to the victor, some nice close shots, before flying off to find other peoples heads to buzz around.

Ok... so maybe I just ever so slightly embellished the story... but its still true, I swear it. And the fly did live, but not before being my model for a while. Check back as all 5 images get posted over the course of this week. If not, my foes struggle and injuries sustained in battle, will be for naught.
